- I am a career-changing medical student who is starting a brand/podcast to create a unique identity and community with my peers. The brand will start with two podcasts. The first is targeted toward the general professional educational journey of osteopathic medical students and residents (these are the lesser known American physicians and surgeons). It will also appeal to the tens of thousands of premeds, because they often search for any resources to help them get ahead.
The second podcast will be focused on interesting events, people, books, ideas and news in the philosophy and history of medicine with an osteopathic emphasis. It will be for practicing physicians, residents and students who want to think about the humanities side of medicine without doing all the work themselves. It will serve as a mental refresher to remind providers of the reasons why they do what they do and their place in the history and development of medical knowledge.
These podcasts are very niche and I hope to establish myself by beginning with some quality and increasing it over time. I have a 3-4 year plan and hope to be seen as the authority in osteopathic new media by the time I graduate medical school.
