Thanks for the latest podcast episode on Mockingjay chapter 3 - and drawing our attention to the implications of the government-issued clothing, rigid scheduling etc. You're right, it's a lot like prison.

But now I'm wondering ... is it also kind of like Plato's ideal city-state (from The Republic, which I've heard about but not actually read)?

Here's the thing.  What is "ideal" to one would not easy translate to being "ideal" for everyone.  

True, but that's never stopped the philosophers from coming up with their various supposed utopias - many of which would be every bit as horrible (to me) as District 13...
