Printing from iPad
As a new iPad owner, I am looking for an app that will allow me to print wirelessly from my iPad. I looked in the app store and it appears that there are many options. Does anyone here have any experience with them? I have a Canon printers so AirPrint is not an option for me.
You would think that if you use Airport Extreme or Express for you wireless router, (which I do) Apple would come up with something that would allow iPhones and iPads to print wirelessly regardless of what brand of printer you use. My laptop is not limited to printing from only HP printers, after all!

Printing is now supported natively in iOS, so you don't need a third party app.
I haven't set it up yet, so I don't know the exact procedure, maybe this link will help

If you look carefully at the Apple support page, you will see that it only works natively with printers that support AirPrint. As of this time, only certain HP printers are AirPrint enabled. Because I have Canon printers, I cannot use the iOS printing application.

I stand corrected. There isn't even a print server utility that you can run on the computer that makes the connection to the printer? I guess I just of figured that once Apple included it in the OS they would also make it more universal and easy to use.

I can print wirelessly from my laptop, but sometimes when I'm browsing recipes or whatever from the couch on my iPad, it would be nice to be able to print directly from it.

Printopia, it is awesome! It's $20 but so worth it! Only downside is it is Mac only. It will also allow you to "print" documents to the desktop or save them to your Dropbox account.

What do you mean when you say you can "print" documents to your desktop? I don't have a Dropbox account and really don't see a need for one. As I told Lon, printing from my laptop isn't an issue, just my iPad.

Print to desktop basically means sending a document on your iPad to your laptop's screen in addition to letting you print the document via printer.
