For several years now I have had a rheumatic/arthritic condition and have been trying to walk daily to imrove my health. I am on a whole range of medications and things were getting better until late 2009 when a swine-flu injection knocked me back. I am still hopeful I will eventually recover but it is a long slow progress. Prayers and encouragemnet is welcome.

I'm very excited to hear that you're already starting to reap the benefits of your surgery.  Thanks so much for the update.

This surgery will change your life!  Glad you got it done and are on the mend.

Thanks Toni, only 4 weeks since the operation and I am still improving, now averaging about 3,000 steps per day.
Wow! 3,000 steps a day already? That is AWESOME!!!!
Now 5 weeks since the hip replacement, the physiotherapists are very pleased with my progress, I am now driving my car and am walking with only one stick and averaging 4000 to 4500 steps a day.
Richard, Congrats on the 4500 steps a day. I'm so excited for you.  Also glad to know that you're able to drive once again.
4500!  I didn't have a hip replaced and more often than not I only get a little more than that.  You have inspired me Richard!
The hip replacement is absolutely fine and I have been walking without a stick for 2 weeks now. The arthritis in knees feet and wrists is still with me but I have reduced my intake of strong painkillers (I have been on the maximum daily dose for about 4 years) and am now taking a minimal dose only a couple of times a week. Also I am managing to walk about 4 kilometers every day. So things are slowly improving.
Richard, this is great news. I am so thankful to know that you are getting around so much better and with less pain.
