Join The Community!

Hey everyone,

I am so delighted to welcome each of you to the new gspn.tv online community here at http://gspncommunity.com.

Geoff Gentry has been the gspn.tv community's online community administrator for many years now.  He and I have been considering which online software service that we would use to replace the previous community forum over the past few months and we have finally settled on the use of the Ning.com platform.

When it comes to options for discussion in this online platform, there are three major outlets.

1) Groups:

There are groups which have been created to facilitate discussions around topics that are known to be of interest to the gspn.tv community.  Click Here To See A List of Our Existing Groups.

2) Forums:

If you have want to start a discussion around a topic that doesn't quite fit into one of our existing groups, there is an open forum that you can get to by clicking here.

We do ask that if your topic does fit in one of the groups mentioned above, please do post your discussion topic there instead.  If there does not seem to be a group devoted to the topic you wish to discuss, please feel free to create a discussion in the main gspn.tv community forum found on the front page of this site.

I would like to ask everyone a personal favor.  Please do not use this community site to post questions related to the technical aspects of podcasting.  Answering such questions is what I do for a living and I desire for this site to be a place where I can interact with the community for the purpose of simply building relationships and discussing other passions.

If you have questions related to podcasting and you my consulting/coaching options are not right for you, you may call in your podcasting questions to our voice mail feedback hotline at 859-795-4067 and I will attempt to answer them un upcoming episodes of the Podcast Answer Man Podcast.

3) Blogs:

There is a "blogs" feature on this service.  I ask that you avoid the use of this feature since it is not given any exposure to the community.  There is not an option for me to disable the blogs feature.  HOwever, I simply ask that you make use of the Groups and Forums that are mentioned above.

So Where Should You Post Your Content/Discussions?

The goal of the gspn.tv online community is for people to build meaningful relationships around shared passions.  We believe that having ongoing discussions with others who share our passions is one of the greatest ways to facilitate growth in our relationships with one another.

Our primary goal is that the discussions happen regardless of where they take place.

However, it would be our desire that if there is an existing group that would be a good fit for your discussion topic, that you would first consider placing that discussion topic in the appropriate group.  If there is not a group, the create the discussion in the general forum area.

Again, I'm so delighted to have you join us!

What is the "Friends" feature for? In the beginning I added people to this, a lot more have joined since, but if I'm not using the feature perhaps I don't need to do that.

This feature will come in handy as we approach thousands who are logged into this site.  I think there's a way for you to actually see an activity feed of what your friends are doing on the site, what messages they are posting in what groups, etc.

I also believe it's possible for you to send a private message to the entire list of your friends.
